The Digital Manufacturing Engineer is part of the Group Manufacturing / Digital Manufacturing Team and is responsible for driving the design, deployment, and governance of digital solutions across multiple manufacturing plants.
This role requires a strong combination of software engineering fundamentals, manufacturing domain knowledge, and hands on shop floor engagement.
The successful candidate will play a key role in accelerating digital transformation initiatives, enabling data driven decision making, and improving operational performance across the manufacturing footprint.
A significant portion of the role—especially in the initial phase—requires frequent presence at manufacturing sites to support deployment, stabilization, and adoption of digital manufacturing solutions.
The position is highly hands on and involves close collaboration with local operations, quality and IT teams.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and support digital manufacturing initiatives across multiple production plants
Participate in the definition and deployment of digital roadmaps, standards, and KPIs within the manufacturing footprint
Design, develop, and deploy manufacturing-facing digital applications supporting production, quality, maintenance, and logistics processes
Define and implement digital workflows, control plans, and actions especially during new launches or critical operational phases
Integrate digital solutions with manufacturing systems, industrial data sources, and enterprise platforms
Manage manufacturing data accuracy, consistency, and availability across responsible systems




Analyze operational and digital KPIs and define action plans to improve efficiency, quality, and responsiveness
Support automation initiatives, including scripting, process automation, and AI-enabled use cases where applicable
Collaborate closely with Production, Quality, IT, and Supply Chain to translate operational needs into scalable digital solutions
Train local plant teams and ensure effective knowledge transfer and adoption of deployed solutions
Prepare and present digital performance, project status, and improvement results to management
Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to digital processes, tools, and ways of working
Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Technology, or a related field
Proven experience (2+ years) in digital manufacturing, manufacturing software, or operational technology roles
Solid foundation in IT–OT architecture, with the ability to design digital solutions that connect shop floor systems and enterprise platforms.
Experience developing and integrating digital manufacturing solutions that support production, quality, and operational processes.




Understanding of manufacturing data flows and data quality, across operational and enterprise systems.
Ability to translate manufacturing needs into scalable, reliable digital solutions in collaboration with operations and IT teams.
Familiarity with cybersecurity, system reliability, and data governance principles in industrial environments.
Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non technical stakeholders
Willingness to travel regularly to manufacturing sites, especially during deployment phases
Fluency in English and Italian; additional languages are considered a plus

The compensation package will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and the scope of the role, applying objective and gender-neutral criteria.
