Human Technopole
ph3Postdoc | Human Technopole, Milan /h3 pApplication closing date: /p pJoin a place where ambitious science thrives. Human Technopole (Milan) is a rapidly expanding life science institute where international researchers and cutting-edge technologies converge to accelerate biomedical discovery. Our mission is to transform bold scientific ideas into advances that improve human health. /p pWithin this mission, the Vannini Group combines cryo-electron microscopy, mass spectrometry, single molecule measurements and cxell biology approaches to elucidate the role of multi-subunit macromolecular machineries involved in genome function and organization. In particular, we are interested in understanding at the molecular level how non -coding gene transcription machineries, auxiliary transcription factors, chromatin remodellers, SMC complexes and transposable elements affect genome structure. /p pWe are seeking an ambitious, highly motivated Postdoc bwith a strong interest in structural and functional characterization of large multi-subunit complexes, using integrative approaches. Previous expertise in structural biology or, in alternative, biochemistry of SMC complexes is essential. /b We encourage international candidates to apply and will support applications to external Postdoctoral fellowship schemes (EMBO, Marie Curie, HPSF, etc.). /p pYour mission /p ul liConduct research, develop innovative methods and tools, and ensure accurate documentation of activities. /li liGenerate high-quality data, maintain proper records, and contribute to writing scientific manuscripts. /li liPublish results and present findings at conferences, seminars, and workshops.
/li liTrain and support students and junior staff, while collaborating with internal and external researchers. /li liPlan and manage experiments and data analysis in line with the research group’s objectives. /li /ul h3Grow Your Skills /h3 pPostdoctoral researchers engage in cutting-edge research in the life sciences, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and utilizing advanced technologies to contribute to impactful scientific publications. They support the advancement of existing research and contributing to the evaluation and establishment of new research directions. Human Technopole supports career development through training, mentoring and dedicated learning opportunities. /p h3Essential /h3 pWhat you'll bring /p ul liPh.D. in a relevant field. /li liResearch background with a track record of peer-reviewed publications in the field of structural biology and/or biochemistry of SMC complexes. /li liExpertise in experimental design and implementation. /li liAbility to develop and implement robust research projects, including formulating hypotheses, designing experiments, and optimizing protocols. /li liCompetence in acquiring, handling, and analyzing large and complex datasets, ensuring data quality, reproducibility,
and appropriate interpretation. /li liAbility to evaluate research findings, troubleshoot technical issues, and draw meaningful conclusions. /li liAbility to write publications, present findings, and effectively communicate research to diverse audiences, including peers, funders, and the public. /li /ul h3Preferred /h3 pOrganisational and social skills /p ul liStrong problem-solving and organizational abilities. /li liTeamwork and good communication skills. /li liNetworking and public speaking proficiency. /li /ul pAt HT, your discoveries contribute to a global effort to improve human health. /p pWhy Human Technopole /p pHT offers an international and dynamic workplace, competitive welfare provisions, flexible working policies and relocation support.
