Summary We are looking for a results-driven Senior Kotlin Developer with deep expertise in: * modern Android development * deep knowledge in BLE, NFC and Beacons * UX/UI implementation * and CI/CD The ideal candidate is ready to lead and deliver the next generation app with a strong focus on: * quality * usability * and maintainability. Personal Skills * Ability to speak, understand and write English fluently * Empathic communicator * Able to manage complex situations, like taking over applications/developments from developers to be phased out * Hitting the right abstraction layer for technical documentation. Technical Skills * Master degree in computer science, comparable degree or more that 10 years of experience in development * More than 3 years of experience in Android development using Kotlin * Proven experience delivering at least one app with 25,000+ installs * Experience integrating Android apps with SAP or comparable backend systems * Strong knowledge of Git, GitHub, and GitFlow * Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) * Solid understanding of databases and SQL * Languages & Frameworks: Kotlin, Java, Android SDK, Jetpack (Compose, ViewModel, LiveData, Navigation), Coroutines, Flow * Tools & Platforms: Android Studio, Gradle, Jira, Confluence * IEC 62443 - security/secure development lifecycle * Exposure to/experience with physical access and mobile credential solutions * Experienced in performance, reliability and battery optimization. Technical * UX/UI Implementation: Advanced skills in translating Figma/Sketch designs into pixel-perfect Android interfaces using Jetpack Compose and Material Design, with strong focus on accessibility (TalkBack, scalable fonts, contrast) * Architecture & State Management: MVVM, Clean Architecture,
Modularization, Dependency Injection (Hilt/Dagger) * Testing: Unit Testing (JUnit), UI Testing (Espresso), Test Automation, Regression Testing * CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Gradle pipelines, Play Store automation (internal, beta, production tracks) * Monitoring & Analytics: Firebase, Crashlytics, Sentry * Collaboration: Agile/Scrum, Jira, Confluence, Code Reviews (Pull Requests) * Documentation: Markdown, API documentation, Confluence * Experience with Bluetooth communication and Android BLE stack (interfacing with hardware, apps working offline) * Azure cloud environments and REST API Technical Skills - Optional * App Distribution: Google Play Store, Enterprise distribution (e.g. MDM / AirWatch) * Secure handling of AirWatch payloads * AirWatch administration know-how * Knowledge of enterprise security and configuration management on Android * Experience with inter-app communication (Intents, AIDL, shared storage) * Experience with multi-window / large screen / tablet optimization * Experience with app analytics and rollout platforms (e.g., Firebase Remote Config) * Knowledge of ABAP development or SAP backend integration * Experience integrating with SharePoint or enterprise content systems * Full-stack development experience * Familiarity with cross-platform technologies (e.g., Kotlin Multiplatform) Company Preconditions Mandatory precondition: * At least 3 developers meeting the mandatory skills for developers * None of the major Schindler competitors is shareholder * Ensure the compliance to Schindler development standards * Ensure the compliance to Schindler IT security standards Optional preconditions: * Global footprint * Extended workbench nearshore and/or offshore * Not working for one of the major Schindler competitors
