p Automation Engineer - Contract | Immediate Start - Italy p Initial 3-month contract, with strong potential to extend to 6 months /pp We are recruiting on behalf of our client, who is looking for experienced Automation Engineers to join a fast-paced, multi-site automation programme across the UK and Europe.
/pp You will work alongside the client's in-house engineering and controls teams, supporting PLC code development, implementation, commissioning, testing and continuous improvement across a network of highly automated sites.
/pp This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Automation or Controls Engineer to join a high-performing team delivering complex, high-impact projects.
/pp You will work on a site closest to you and remote support other locations.
/pp What You'll Be Doing /pulli Developing, testing and commissioning PLC code using Siemens TIA Portal /lili Supporting fault-finding and troubleshooting on live automated systems /lili Leading and contributing to process improvement initiatives /lili Integrating and migrating code across Siemens TIA Portal versions /lili Supporting the deployment and commissioning of new automation projects /lili Acting as a key technical point of contact within a skilled team of contractors and permanent engineers /li /ulp What We're Looking For /pulli5+ years' experience coding and commissioning in Siemens TIA /lili Strong working knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal (version 16 and above) /lili Experience troubleshooting complex issues across Controls, Fieldbus (Profinet, Profibus, ASi) and IT platforms /lili Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex technical issues to a range of stakeholders /lili Strong project management, organisation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and teams /lili Good written and verbal English /lili Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision /lili Sound knowledge of machine safety regulations and safe working practices /li /ulp Desirable Skills /pulli Knowledge of the Ignition platform for building SCADA/HMI systems /lili Familiarity with SCADA and OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) concepts /lili Ability to analyse performance metrics to drive process optimisation /lili Experience leading a change management process /li /ulp How to Apply /pp If you have a strong background in Siemens TIA automation and are ready for an immediate start, we'd love to hear from you.
