Postdoctoral Position – Structural BiologyApplications are invited for a postdoctoral position focused on the characterization of spindle coupling to cortical polarity in asymmetric cell divisions.
The role will involve structural characterization of protein complexes involved in spindle placement, identification of new components, and integration of X?ray crystallography, biochemistry, and cell biology approaches.
ResponsibilitiesInvestigate the molecular mechanisms underlying mitotic spindle coupling to cortical polarity.
Perform protein expression, purification, crystallization, and structure determination using X?ray crystallography.
Use cell biology assays to study the coordination between force?generating complexes and polarity proteins Par3/Par6/aPKC.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members and contribute to joint projects.
Prepare and present scientific results, including manuscripts and conference presentations.
QualificationsPhD in protein structure, biochemistry,
or an equivalent qualification.
Extensive experience in protein expression, purification, and characterization.
Proficiency in X?ray crystallography and related structural biology techniques.
Strong background in cell biology and experience with mitotic spindle dynamics is desirable.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
BenefitsAccess to state?of?the?art equipment for protein purification, crystallization, and imaging, automated imaging system, nanodrop crystallization robot, and synchrotron beamlines.
A stimulating and collaborative research environment within the Structural Biology Department at IFOM?IEO Campus.
