Role Description

The Assistant Banquet Manager role at San Clemente Palace Venice is a full-time, on-site position based in Venice. This role supports the Banquet Manager in planning, coordinating, and executing banquets, conferences, and special events, ensuring high-quality service and smooth operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising banquet staff, coordinating room setup and breakdown, monitoring food and beverage service, and ensuring events follow hotel standards and guest requirements. The Assistant Banquet Manager collaborates with the kitchen, sales, and front office teams to confirm event details, manage timelines, and respond to last-minute changes. Additional tasks include assisting with scheduling, training team members, monitoring costs, maintaining health and safety standards, and handling guest feedback to improve future events.

Qualifications

- Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction skills to ensure guests receive attentive, high-quality service throughout events.




- Strong Communication abilities to coordinate effectively with guests, vendors, and internal teams.
- Food & Beverage knowledge to oversee banquet menus, service standards, and compliance with hygiene and safety regulations.
- Hiring and basic people management skills to support recruitment, training, and performance guidance for banquet staff.
- Previous experience in banquet operations, hospitality, or event management, ideally in a luxury hotel environment.
- Organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple events, schedules, and priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on event needs.
- Proficiency in basic office and hotel management software; understanding of event planning tools is an advantage.
- Professional fluency in English; knowledge of Italian or other languages is a plus.
