p Mechanical Solutions Engineer – Data Centres p Location: Milan, Italy (Hybrid – 3 days per week in office) /pp Salary: Up to €80,000 + premio /pp The Opportunity /pp An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Solutions Engineer to join a fast-growing data centre organisation delivering mission-critical infrastructure projects across EMEA.
/pp This role offers the opportunity to work at the intersection of mechanical engineering, data centre design and customer solutions, supporting the development of hyperscale and colocation facilities across Europe.
/pp You will act as a key technical advisor, helping shape mechanical solutions from early concept design through to delivery, working closely with customers, engineering consultants, contractors and internal teams.
/pp The Role /pp As a Mechanical Solutions Engineer, you will provide technical expertise across the mechanical aspects of data centre developments, ensuring solutions are scalable, efficient and aligned with customer requirements.
/pp Key responsibilities include: /pulli Lead mechanical engineering input into data centre solutions from concept design through project delivery.
/lili Develop and review mechanical design strategies, including cooling architectures, HVAC systems and plant solutions.
/lili Support customer discussions by providing technical guidance on mechanical infrastructure requirements.
/lili Collaborate with engineering consultants, contractors and internal teams to deliver effective mechanical solutions.
/lili Review mechanical designs, specifications, calculations and technical documentation.




/lili Support technical due diligence activities for new data centre developments.
/lili Evaluate cooling strategies, energy efficiency opportunities and future-proofing requirements for high-density computing environments.
/lili Provide technical input across chilled water systems, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling infrastructure, heat rejection and liquid cooling solutions.
/lili Support value engineering activities, balancing technical performance, operational requirements and commercial considerations.
/lili Work with teams across EMEA to maintain consistent engineering standards.
/li /ulp About You /pp You will be an experienced mechanical engineer with a background in data centres, mission-critical infrastructure or complex industrial environments.
/pp You will ideally have: /pulli Minimum 4 years' experience working within data centres or mission-critical environments.
/lili Strong mechanical engineering background with experience across HVAC and cooling systems.
/lili Experience within data centre design, engineering consultancy, owner/operator or mission-critical delivery environments.
/lili Consultancy design experience is highly desirable.
/lili Strong understanding of chilled water systems, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers, pumps and associated mechanical systems.




/lili Ability to engage confidently with customers, consultants and technical stakeholders.
/lili Experience reviewing and challenging mechanical designs and engineering solutions.
/lili Understanding of data centre resilience principles, including N+1 and 2N redundancy.
/lili Strong communication skills and the ability to influence across multidisciplinary teams.
/lili Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
/li /ulp Requirements /pulli Fluent English is essential.
/lili Ability to work hybrid with travel to the Milan office three days per week.
/li /ulp Desirable Experience /pulli Experience supporting hyperscale data centre customers.
/lili Exposure to liquid cooling and high-density computing environments.
/lili Experience working within engineering consultancies delivering mission-critical projects.
/lili Experience across European data centre markets.
/lili Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
