Overview
As System Controls Solution Architect at Vertiv, you will define the technical and commercial architecture for system-level thermal controls and optimization across customer projects. You will bridge Offering Management, Sales, Engineering, and Service to scope, cost, and hand over projects for successful execution. You will shape hardware, software, and integration definitions for CDU systems, cooling networks, and plant-level optimization. This role offers impact on large-scale thermal solutions and energy efficiency, contributing to Vertiv’s mission to power the future.
Responsibilities
- Define system architecture for thermal controls and optimization on customer projects
- Specify hardware and software scope per project and identify PLC/IO, interfaces, HMI/SCADA requirements
- Ensure integration with CDU systems, secondary loops, pumps, chillers, and heat reuse devices
- Support commercial offering: scope, assumptions, exclusions, risks, and deliverables
- Contribute to project economics, budgeting,
cost build-up, pricing inputs and margin analysis
- Identify upselling opportunities in advanced control features, analytics, energy efficiency, and lifecycle support
- Coordinate requirements across Offering Management, Sales, Engineering and technical teams
- Prepare technical proposals, architecture descriptions, and customer-facing documentation
- Collaborate with Sales, Application Engineering, Platform Engineering and BU teams in pre-sales and ongoing projects
- Ensure clear handover to commissioning with scope, requirements, risks and constraints
- Capture lessons learned to inform roadmap and product improvements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Experience in HVAC controls, liquid cooling controls, BMS, chiller plant controls, data center infrastructure or industrial automation
