ABB E-Mobility is building a standalone IT organization to support manufacturing, R&D;, and commercial operations across Europe and the US.
We are looking for a hands-on, highly versatile IT Systems Engineer who will act as the primary IT presence at our San Giovanni Valdarno site.This is a broad, high-impact role for someone who enjoys variety, ownership, and visibility.
You will work across endpoints, infrastructure, networking, automation, and executive support, often in the same week.
The role requires strong technical competence, excellent judgment, and the professionalism to operate confidently in executive-facing environments.This role reports to the Head of IT Infrastructure.In this role your main accountabilities will be:Provide Tier 2/3 end-user support across Windows, macOS, and Linux, including white?glove support for C?level executivesServe as the on?site IT owner for the SGV location, ensuring reliable and professional IT servicesAdminister endpoint management platforms (JAMF, Intune) across the full device lifecycleOwn and support video conferencing systems, meeting rooms, and live executive events with zero tolerance for disruptionTroubleshoot and maintain networking and infrastructure components (LAN/WAN, Wi?Fi, VPN, firewalls, virtualization)Support Microsoft 365 services and related SaaS platformsDevelop scripts and automation to streamline IT operations and reduce manual effortLead and execute local and regional IT projects, including infrastructure refreshes and greenfield buildsProduce and maintain clear technical documentation, runbooks, and standard operating proceduresCollaborate closely with global IT teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders during IT separation and growth initiativesTo make the above work,



we are looking for a senior professional who has a strong customer-service mindset, composure under pressure, and ownership mentality.
Other essential requirements:8+ years of hands-on IT experience with strong breadth across endpoints, infrastructure, and cloud servicesProven experience supporting both Windows and macOS in a corporate environmentSolid networking fundamentals (routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, wireless)Experience with endpoint management tools (Intune required; JAMF strongly preferred)Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 administrationPractical scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar)Experience supporting AV/VC systems and executive-facing meetings or eventsFluent English (written and spoken), comfortable interacting with senior leadershipEU work authorization and availability for on-site work in San Giovanni ValdarnoCompensation DetailsThe employment framework is based on the National Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL) for the Metalworking Industry, with an indicative level between B2/B3 and a minimum gross annual salary starting from € ******.The specific level and compensation package will be defined based on the outcome of the selection process (including experience, skills set, and role fit), in accordance with objective, transparent, and gender-neutral criteria,
