For a tech company in the payment systems sector, we're looking for a freelance

Senior Automation Engineer specialized in firmware and embedded testing, to ensure the quality of products such as Outdoor Payment Terminals (OPT) and forecourt controllers.

What you'll do

Define test strategy and test plans from business requirements

Design and execute automated tests on firmware, hardware-software integration and low-level embedded software

Develop test software to automate regression testing and performance benchmarks

Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines for faster releases

Document test plans, results and releases, managing issue tracking and versioning

Requirements (essential)





5+ years of experience in hardware-software testing/development with structured methodologies

3+ years with

Java or C++

Degree in engineering/electronics

Experience in firmware testing, hardware-software integration and validation of low-level embedded software

Test automation frameworks (e.g. TestNG)

Hands-on CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab CI)

Proficiency in Linux (commands and scripting)

Agile methodology

Nice to have

retail petroleum/payments sector, EMV/PCI DSS and cryptography, API testing (Postman, REST Assured) on middleware.

Logistics

freelance collaboration via Shakers. Florence (Osmannoro), on-site. xkiyazw Occasional travel may be required.
