Product Manager__
Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the Product Management team in managing and developing the Motion portfolio, with a focus on Drives, Servo Systems and Controllers for the Machinery segment. You will collaborate directly with global factories and local sales teams to define product specifications aligned with market requirements. Your expertise will be demonstrated through various activities, supporting the development, launch, maintenance, positioning, pricing, and profitability of the assigned product range.

This position contributes to the Motion Drive Products division located in Sesto San Giovanni or Bologna, with key stakeholders including Sales, Business Developers, Product Managers and Factories.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Manage the technical specifications and positioning of assigned products, supporting Product Management and Business Developers in portfolio development, product launch, maintenance, pricing and profitability.
- Develop the business for the assigned product portfolio (Drives, Servo Drives, Motion Controller), collaborating with the sales network and Business Developers to address customer needs in the Machinery segment.
- Support OEM customers and machine builders in identifying the most suitable solutions for motion control and automation applications.
- Manage the market introduction, positioning, and lifecycle of new products, variants, options,
and software functionalities.
- Provide training on new products, systems, and solutions to internal teams, channel partners, and customers.
- Work closely with factories to ensure products meet market requirements, continuously sharing feedback on industry trends and the needs of the Italian machinery market.
- Prepare and update price lists, ensuring consistency and competitiveness of the product offering.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis, effectively communicating findings and recommendations to the sales organization.
- Explore and develop new growth opportunities in machine automation, motion control, and industrial digitalization.
- Become the reference point for the sales network in handling the most important and technically complex application cases.
- Keep the sales network regularly informed about new products, successful applications, and best practices implemented with customers.
Qualifications for the role
- You have experience in product management, technical sales or application engineering of industrial automation products.
- You have strong knowledge of Variable Speed Drives, Servo Systems, Motion Controller, with at least 7–10 years of experience in the automation industry.
- You have a solid understanding of OEM machinery applications and machine-building processes.
- You can demonstrate experience in automation applications within target segments such as packaging, material handling, plastics, metalworking…
- You have strong relationship-building and networking skills and are comfortable working across multiple functions within ABB.
- You are customer-oriented, proactive, and capable of balancing technical and commercial priorities.
- You are comfortable communicating in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
Compensation Package

Applicable CBA: Metalmeccanico
Minimum annual salary: € 39.000
Variable Pay: Eligible for Company Productivity Premio The offer will be tailored based on your role location, experience, skills and qualifications, internal market positioning and alignment with ABB internal standards.
