Traffic Management & Control Configuration Engineer

Hitachi Rail seeks a self-motivated Traffic Management & Control Configuration Engineer in Genoa to drive the design and configuration of automation projects. You will work within the Traffic Management System domain, aligning functional design with industry standards and company guidelines. The role focuses on configuration, testing, requirements traceability, and interface management to deliver reliable traffic management solutions. This is an opportunity to shape railway automation systems within a global, inclusive organization and contribute to impactful digital transformation in rail.

- salary range 35,000–40,000 EUR gross per year

- Design and configure the assigned portion of the functional Traffic Management System for automation projects
- Produce and maintain functional design documentation and project artifacts
- Contribute to data configuration and tooling for specific and generic applications
- Participate in testing activities and defect detection,



ensuring requirements traceability and verification
- Manage requirements related to functional design, including traceability and verification
- Reference industry standards (e.g., CENELEC, IPC) in deliverables
- Support verification activities per the V&V; plan and company guidelines
- Perform gap analysis between customer requirements and company products
- Contribute to functional design documentation including system requirements, architecture, interface control, and analysis
- 1–3 years of railway and/or automation experience
- Knowledge of railway and/or metro automation systems
- Automation and signaling system/subsystem architecture understanding
- Database management
- Testing techniques
- RAM(S) and CENELEC and quality knowledge could be a plus
