The Senior Principal Project Engineer role requires conceptual and innovative thinking to develop creative solutions to Project Engineering challenges. /ph3Responsibilities /h3h3Key Tasks and Responsibilities /h3ulliManage the engineering scope of a McDermott project /liliEstablish and implement project procedures to ensure deliverables meet quality and technical content requirements in accordance with contract documents /liliManage the technical execution to support the business considerations established for the project /liliMay be responsible for a Unit/Area, a specific function, or may be assigned the Project Engineering Manager role on a project /liliRegularly requested to support the preparation of proposals for prospective projects /liliMay be assigned as the Project Manager for smaller projects /liliPractice and promote safety in designs and work processes /liliHelp prepare and understand the requirements of Engineering in the contract documents /liliProvide direction to and coordinate with the Engineering and Design Leads on an assigned project /liliDevelop and implement the Project Execution Plan:



/liliIncorporate multi-office execution as appropriate (MOPEX) /liulliDevelop internal/external Division of Responsibility (DOR) matrix as required /liliPrepare a Project Coordination Procedure /liliCommunicate project requirements to the team /liliSupervise and guide other Project Engineers /li /ulliEnsure effective communication among engineering disciplines: /liliDocument discussions and decisions related to the design /liliPrepare, review, and approve meeting minutes /liliPrepare, review, and approve Technical Queries, Design Deviations /liliPrepare, review, and approve responses to RFI’s and other correspondence /liliPrepare and approve weekly and monthly reports for management /liliAssume responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity, and budget control /liliManage change Effectively and Proactively /liliDevelop and maintain Project Engineering documents: /liulliAssemble and approve the Engineering Staffing Plan /liliEquipment List /liliPotential Change Notices /liliWeekly and Monthly reports for management /liliAction item lists (internal and external) /li /ulliReview work with clients, management, and project leads /liliCoordinate third-party interfaces /liliIdentify problems and coordinate with the engineering team to correct /liliLead orderly handover and archiving of the completed project /liulliApprove and submit the closeout report /liliReview and approve Lessons Learned submitted /li /ulliReview and provide input to Company work processes and procedures as requested /liliInterface with PMT and other functions within McDermott and with Clients for technical matters /liliAnticipate internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommend process; product or service improvements /liliSolve unique and complex problems that have a broad impact on the business /liliProactively identify and solve the most complex problems that influence the management and direction of the project /liliPresent highly complex ideas, anticipate potential objections, and persuade others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view /li /ulpReports to:br/Project: Project Manager, Project Engineering Manager /ppFunctional: Manager of Project Engineering/Eng.

Dept Managers, Procurement, Construction/Fabrication team, Project Controls, Finance /ppSupervises: Project Engineers, Engineering Discipline Leads on a Project (PEM) /ph3Qualifications /h3h3Essential Qualifications and Education /h3ulliBachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Engineering /lili15-20 years of Project Engineering experience with 5-10 years of experience as a Project Engineering Manager on multiple projects /liliPreferably Registered Engineer in Training (ElT) or member of a professional engineering society as applicable /liliShow flexibility and ensure proper hand-over with regards to: /liulliThe reassignment to other departments, construction sites, and fabrication yards /liliThe replacement of colleagues during illness and holidays /liliThe provision of assistance to other colleagues with heavy workloads (also other projects) when possible/desirable /li /ulliAble to represent the company (internal and external forums) and be an ambassador of McDermott values /liliManage/Learn of future current working methods and software applications /liliRecognized PEM or PE within the company /liliDemonstrated broad technical knowledge of detailed design engineering codes and standards /liliStrong in-depth knowledge of detailed engineering and design work procedures and processes /liliField assignment experience /liliHas experience in International Projects with multi-office (MOPEX) execution, part of a Joint Venture or Consortium Group /liliExperience developing proposals and contractual documentation /liliExperience acting in a PMT role for projects /liliExperience in revamping (Brownfield) and grassroots (Greenfield) projects /liliAble to read and understand contractual documentation /liliAble to effectively communicate with all stakeholders on a project /li /ulh3About Us /h3pOur ingenuity fuels daily life.
