About the Client Our client is a global payment processing company that provides comprehensive payment infrastructure services. They specialize in acquiring, issuing, and processing services, offering solutions like payment acquiring, BIN sponsorship, and white-label card issuing. Their diverse customer base includes merchants, fintechs, and banks across the globe. Role Overview Join a fully remote team as a Sales & Business Development Manager for Southern Europe. This is an exciting opportunity to develop and execute sales strategies that drive growth in the merchant acquiring business. You'll have the chance to build strong relationships and manage a robust pipeline of new merchants in low- and medium-risk industries. Your efforts will directly contribute to the company's expansion in Italy, Spain, and Portugal. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute a sales strategy to grow the merchant acquiring business across Southern Europe. Build and manage a strong pipeline of new merchants, focusing on e-commerce, digital businesses, SaaS, and retail. Generate outbound business opportunities through prospecting, networking, and referrals. Identify merchant needs and position the company's payment solutions as the preferred choice. Lead commercial negotiations, including pricing and contractual agreements. Manage the merchant onboarding process in collaboration with internal teams. Maintain accurate pipeline management, CRM updates, forecasting, and sales reporting. Represent the company at industry conferences and networking events.
Monitor local market trends and competitor activity to identify new business opportunities. Requirements 2+ years of B2B sales or business development experience within payments, merchant acquiring, fintech, PSP, e-commerce, or merchant services. Proven experience selling card acquiring solutions to merchants. Strong understanding of the payments ecosystem, including transaction flows and compliance fundamentals. Knowledge of local payment methods and trends within Southern Europe. Demonstrated ability to independently build and manage an outbound sales pipeline. Existing network of merchants and industry decision-makers is essential. Experience working with cross-border merchants and European-licensed payment structures is advantageous. Strong CRM discipline with a structured approach to reporting and forecasting. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Languages: English. Conversation level of Italian could be your strong advantage. Experience in fintech. Key Soft Skills Excellent relationship-building and networking skills.
