Overview: Under the guidance of the Trinseo Global Product Leader and the regional business stakeholders, the Product Stewardship Specialist / Expert is responsible for defining and executing product regulatory compliance across the various regions of commercial sales (in most cases regional NA, EU, AP). **This role must ensure business compliance to all product regulatory and industry standards with regard to hazard communications, regional chemical inventories, and end-use product handling restrictions.** This individual must ensure all internal and external communications with regard to Product Stewardship concerns with our products are appropriately managed through the calculation, review and assessment of the detailed product compositions (with the help of detailed raw material knowledge), under the guidance of the Product Stewardship Leader. **Responsibilities**: Represent Global product stewardship with relevant business functions (including Quality, TS&D;, R&D;, product supply, and Commercial) to ensure the Product Stewardship concerns and requirements are addressed, with a particular focus on business product development, sustainable solutions, market expansion, and R&D; objectives. Respond to customer’s inquiries on our products, typically about absence of chemicals of concern, compliance with sector relevant regulations, and sustainability. This activity ensures customer regulatory compliance and enhances customer loyalty. We target less than 10 business day response time to these customer inquiries, including customer forms and surveys. Hazard communication of products. In collaboration with the Hazard communication team, responsible for the automatic authoring and the revision of the SDS document for specific products and for the global market.



Assess the known product hazards based upon existing data or data acquired through new product testing (physical and/or toxicological testing). When necessary, obtain business approval to conduct additional product testing in order to define product classification. Mitigate product risk through appropriate hazard communications and suggested methods for safe product handling (exposure control). Communicate to product supply the regulatory content of labels. This activity ensures Trinseo understands our product hazard classification and is able to communicate that effectively to customers. Manage compliance documentation. When necessary, refresh the data on various raw materials via direct communications with raw material suppliers. Utilize the Raw Material Regulatory checklist (RMRC) to obtain information from suppliers. Keep this checklist current to reflect changes in product regulations throughout the globe. Collaborate with product stewards across product lines and geographical regions to improve best practices by end use (Automotive, Medical, Electronics, etc). Monitor Regulatory Changes, assess and communicate impact, implement and execute compliance strategies. The regulatory landscape is undergoing continuous change. Product Stewards must identify relevant changes and take appropriate actions to maintain product regulatory compliance for the company.



Evaluate product additives and product compositions for their sustainable chemistry. Promote reductions or the elimination of chemicals that are categorized as PBT (Persistent, bio-accumulative or toxic) and or substances of high concern. This activity ensures that we are prepared to change our products based upon regulatory and industry pressures, to sustain our “license to sell”. Represent the function when management of change (MOC) assessments occur. Help define the impact of a product change (Management of Change (MOC) and Notification of Change (NOC)) in terms of EH&S; risks and product safety. This activity ensures changes are assessed for their potential impacts, and when necessary customers are notified of those changes. Support the IMDS (International Material Data System) database to provide compositional information to Automotive customers in a managed fashion. This activity ensures our Automotive customers have timely access to product compositional information. We target a 24 hour response time for these the completion of these requests. Qualifications: A Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Masters degree in Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology, or other Environmental Sciences is a minimum requirement Minimum 2-5 year in Product Stewardship role is essential. Understanding of EU chemical regulations (REACH, CLP) is essential. Excellent Communication Skills: must be able to take complex regulatory information and translate this information into the essential business requirements, and communicate them to the business in a clear and concise manner. Experience working on Polyurethanes is a plus. Experience in working on global teams and knowledge of non EU chemical regulations is a plus. Experience in human or environmental toxicology is a plus. Experience in EU food contact regulation
