Founded by a pioneer in data centre REITs, CloudHQ delivers flexible, efficient, and resilient data centre solutions that empower the world’s largest technology companies. /p h3Role Overview: /h3 pThe Lead Power Systems Engineer will be a critical member of the CloudHQ Development team, primarily responsible for design, performance and delivery of CloudHQ’s utility infrastructure across EMEA. /p pThis role plays a critical part in ensuring that all infrastructure meets the highest standards of reliability, efficiency, and scalability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power systems engineering, data centre design, and utility infrastructure coordination, as well as experience working with cross‑functional project and operations teams in a fast‑paced, global environment. /p pThe Lead Power Systems Engineer will be responsible for professionally representing CloudHQ’s Development team across multiple functions within the organisation as well as outside of the company. This role will be the primary technical point of contact from the Development team in respect of utility connections and delivery of utility connections to sites. /p h3Key Responsibilities: /h3 ul liCoordinate with and support (from a technical perspective) CloudHQ’s EMEA Energy Lead in negotiations with utilities and grid operators to secure power capacity and manage interconnection processes. /li liLiaise with the EMEA Infrastructure Manager to ensure a coordinated approach to delivering power solutions across the region. /li liProvide guidance around utilities procurement, design, and delivery. Lead the design of power connections for new CloudHQ projects. /li liLead infrastructure design and technical delivery for hyperscale data center developments across EMEA. /li liOversee all aspects of power infrastructure - from utility interconnection to onsite substation design.



/li liWork closely with engineering design consultants, contractors, and equipment vendors to ensure technical and commercial alignment. /li liDevelop and maintain regional infrastructure standards, specifications, and commissioning protocols. /li liEvaluate design proposals and value‑engineering options for efficiency, reliability, and cost optimization. /li liManage and track infrastructure budgets, schedules, and performance KPIs across multiple concurrent projects. /li liSupport operational readiness by ensuring seamless transition from construction to commissioning and turnover to data center operations. /li liCollaborate with internal stakeholders (Project Management, Energy, Operations, Finance, and Legal) to ensure alignment with business goals and delivery timelines. /li liServe as a subject matter expert for HV/MV power systems, UPS, MV/LV distribution, generators, and monitoring systems (SCADA/BMS/EMS). /li liStay current with regional regulations, permitting requirements and sustainability initiatives related to power and infrastructure. /li liWork with the wider CloudHQ design teams and external consultants to deliver all permits required for utility connections. Be a key part of the CloudHQ Development team managing all consultants to deliver best safety, best quality, best value for CloudHQ and our customers. /li liFunction as primary technical point of contact with all utility providers, local authorities, municipalities etc. /li liChampion CloudHQ initiatives on all projects. /li liDevelop creative solutions and innovations to help streamline processes. /li liAdhere to company safety standards and help promote a safe working environment for office and field employees, subcontractors, and clients. /li liAdhere to and promote the core values of CloudHQ. /li /ul h3Required Experience Qualifications:



/h3 ul liBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline. /li liMinimum 10 years’ experience in design and delivery of utility connections or similar complex technical projects across EMEA; Data Centre experience preferred. /li liBackground in complex industrial, grid infrastructure, pharmaceutical, or mission critical / high‑tech development preferred if no data centre experience. /li liFluency in English is required. Proficiency in German, French, Italian and/or Spanish is highly desirable. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications: /h3 ul liAbility to solve problems using analysis, technical and organisational expertise. /li liStrong understanding of high‑voltage and medium‑voltage systems, substations, switchgear, UPS, generators, and cooling systems. /li liProven experience working with utilities on grid interconnection, permitting, and capacity planning. /li liDemonstrated ability to lead complex, multi‑site projects from concept through commissioning. /li liFamiliarity with design standards and best practices (e.g., Uptime Institute, IEC, ISO, EN, or local codes). /li liExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and non‑technical audiences. /li liStrong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a focus on reliability and operational excellence. /li liAbility to use independent judgement and sound decision‑making skills in situations that impact design, project timetables, direction, and outcome. /li liAbility to independently supervise a development, construction, or design project. /li liResponsible attitude with strong work ethic; leading by example in attendance, attitude, and technical work product. /li liStrong communicator with excellent presentation and speaking skills; enjoys collaborating with customers and external audiences. /li /ul h3Why Join CloudHQ: /h3 ul liShape the next generation of hyperscale design standards across global markets. /li liLead technically challenging, high‑impact projects with massive scale. /li liCollaborate with top engineering and construction partners worldwide. /li liWork in a high‑growth, innovation‑driven environment with significant career progression opportunities. /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
