ph3Role Purpose /h3 pAs Cloud Design Engineer you will be part of a global end‑to‑end unit in the Cloud Engineering organization that aims to achieve the cloud‑ready and cloud‑native strategy for Vodafone, acting as an enabler for the network as a platform, and thus driving cost efficiencies and innovation. You will be in charge of designing and supporting the delivery of the Telco Cloud virtualized infrastructure in Italy and cluster markets in accordance with the Vodafone Cloud Engineering strategy and goals to enable the onboarding of the core network’s tools with best‑in‑industry quality within the planned time. /p pYou will be accountable and responsible for the design to deployment of infrastructure virtualization, network for a cloud‑ready platform, mainly focused on VMware NFV SDN solutions and Red Hat Open Shift solution, considering capacity efficiency, security, resiliency and automation, aligned with the peculiarities of NFV workloads. You also will support the infrastructure build of network functions into on‑premise cloud environment. /p pThe technology focus is on IaaS, CaaS, PaaS infrastructure (vCloud, vCenter, hypervisor, computing, storage, network – physical or virtual), remote access solutions, cloud, security, and backup solutions. /p pYou also will work with the VNF/CNF onboarding team to automate end‑to‑end integrations. /p pIn accordance with Vodafone strategy and focused on virtual/containerized network functions (V/CFN) and SDN needs, as a member of the Cloud Engineering team,
the technology focus from solution design and delivery and best practices perspective will be (but not limited to): /p ul liVirtualization and cloud‑native platforms overall (IaaS, CaaS, PaaS) /li liVMware Telco Cloud Platform components, namely: vCloud Director, vSphere, vRealize products (vRealize Operations, Orchestrator, Log Inside and Network Inside), NSX‑T, Telco Cloud Automation (TCA) and VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Grid (TKG) /li liRed Hat Open Shift Platform /li liHardware and software lifecycle management /li liInfrastructure in general (hypervisor, computing, storage, networking – physical or virtual) /li liDeliver backup solution to support Telco Cloud Platform /li /ul h3Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership /h3 ul liResponsible for the solution design and lifecycle management of designed solutions within Cluster IT, GR, AL Vodafone Markets /li liCoordinating suppliers, engaging with peers and other stakeholders to ensure the timely delivery of functionality and quality in projects /li liDesign and delivery NVI on time and on budget according to the project’s timeline /li liSupport process development and automation of VNF /CNF delivery /li liDefine, address,
track and report on standard and guideline adherence /li liTranslate technical requirements into business language /li /ul h3Key Performance Indicators /h3 ul liDesign and deliver infrastructure within local market timescales /li liMeet or exceed capex targets /liliTimeliness and quality in the solution design and delivery /li /ul h3Core Competencies, Knowledge and Experience /h3 ul liData centre infrastructure, cloud computing and virtualization architectures (Telco) /li liCustomer oriented and systematic way of working /li liStrong communication and negotiation skills /li liAbility to work across multifuncational and cultural boundaries to deliver results and change /li liStrong individual applied thinking /li liGood analytical and problem‑solving skills /li /ul h3Must Have Technical / Professional Qualifications /h3 ul liDegree qualified /li liAt least 4 years professional experience in cloud and virtualization /li liExpert in data centre infrastructure, cloud computing and virtualization architectures (IT and Telco) design and delivery /li liSolid understanding of virtualization (VMware / OpenShift Cloud Platform) and containerization (Kubernetes) /li liSolid understanding of routing and switching protocols (e.g. BGP / ISIS / OSPF) /li liExperience with Kubernetes networking (CNIs, Service Mesh, Network Policies, Ingress/Egress) /li liExperience with Network Load Balancers and Firewalls /li liExperience in designing/implementing IPv6 solutions /li liScripting expertise is preferred (Power CLI, PowerShell, Python, …) /li /ul h3Location /h3 pItaly /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
