Energy & Construction Underwriting Team Leader

You will take the lead on all the key aspects of AXA XL Italy underwriting operations in Energy and Construction business within the Country in accordance with the regional and divisional guidelines.
This includes but is not limited to portfolio profitability, account pricing, portfolio rate change, renewal retention, marketing, new business production, development of staff and broker and client management.
Essential Responsibilities
Manage directly underwriting activity for an assigned portfolio
Develop the portfolio whilst maximizing profitability by making decisions and recommendations to assist in the development and control of profitable underwriting and monitoring of performance of products and/or schemes and portfolios in accordance with AXA strategy and business plan
Lead and develop a team of Underwriters. Support the team by providing technical training and coaching on a day to day and, as required, more formalized basis.
Execute departmental strategy and achieve P&L; metrics.

Support the business planning and forecasting process; monitor financial exposure and premium income to ensure it remains within set limits.
Maintain awareness of all claims advised while supporting and providing input on settlement of claims.
Seek, identify and develop opportunities for profitable business with new and existing customers.
Develop relationships with stakeholders to ensure that business needs are achieved and enhance the visibility on the market with brokers, clients, risk managers and account managers.
Collaborate closely with Distribution Team by providing an effective and efficient service.
You will report to Property, Energy & Construction Underwriting Manager, Italy.
Desired Abilities and Skills
Proven experience in underwriting Energy and/or Construction business within commercial insurance business. Experience in Property Underwriting activities will be a plus.
