ph3Would you like to move a research organisation's infrastructure into the cloud, and own how it is done?
/h3pThis role sits with an international scientific and technology centre on the Italian coast at La Spezia.
The work is a genuine migration: assessing what runs on premises today, deciding what belongs in the cloud, then planning, building and running it.
You would be shaping the approach rather than executing someone else's plan.
/ph3What You Will Be Doing /h3ulliWorking with the IT team to identify and implement the most suitable cloud based solutions /liliPlanning, designing and developing applications both on premises and in the cloud /liliManaging the on premises infrastructure and the cloud environment in line with the organisation's security guidelines /liliLeading and developing best practice for the cloud and systems engineering team /liliSupervising standard system administration on premises and in the cloud: server installation, system and application installation, patch management, Windows and Linux problem determination and resolution,
log analysis /liliOrchestrating and automating on premises and cloud based platforms across the organisation /liliDefining project plans and backlogs, monitoring execution and reporting /liliRunning the team day to day on Agile principles, including daily standups /li /ulh3What you will need /h3ulliA bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering /liliFour to eight years in a cloud engineer role or a closely related position /liliExperience managing IT projects as project manager, ideally using Agile principles /liliActive Directory Domain Services and Active Directory Federation Services, PKI, OU structures and group policies, DNS, DHCP /liliVMware ESX and VCF /liliLinux and UNIX, Docker and Microsoft Azure /liliWorking knowledge of web services, API, REST and RPC /liliA strong grasp of networking and internet protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks /li /ulh3Why this one is worth a look /h3pYou get a migration to own end to end, a technical team to lead, and an organisation whose work has a purpose beyond a balance sheet.
