Project Quantity Surveyor – Data Centre (M&E;) – Milan
If you're a QS who prefers being at the centre of a project rather than on the sidelines, this is the kind of role that gives you that platform.
You'll join Kirby Group Engineering on a major data centre project in Milan, taking ownership of the commercial delivery across both mechanical and electrical packages.
It's a fast-moving environment with real scale, where your decisions will have a direct impact on project performance.
Kirby Group Engineering are one of Europe's leading engineering contractors, delivering complex projects across data centres, life sciences and industrial sectors.
They've built a reputation on technical delivery, consistency and strong commercial control – and they trust their teams to get on with the job.
The Role
You'll take responsibility for the commercial management of the project from early-stage through to final account.
This is a full lifecycle role, working closely with project, planning and commercial teams to ensure the job is delivered properly and profitably.
You'll be expected to lead from the front, manage detail without losing sight of the bigger picture, and operate with confidence in a high-performing project environment.
Key Responsibilities
Managing budgets, BOQs and commercial planning across the project
Running valuations, applications and ensuring accurate monthly reporting
Managing subcontractor accounts from appointment through to final account agreement
Leading commercial discussions with both client and internal stakeholders
Tracking performance and reporting clearly to project leadership
Identifying and managing commercial risks early
Working closely with planning to align cost and programme
Handling variations, change control and dayworks with accuracy
Maintaining strong commercial records to support all reporting and negotiations
What They're Looking For
Experience as a Project Quantity Surveyor within M&E; or complex construction environments
Data centre exposure is advantageous, but not essential
Strong subcontractor management and commercial delivery experience
Someone comfortable taking ownership and working independently
Clear communicator who can influence and challenge when needed
Commercially aware, detail-driven and solution-focused
Why This Role
Major data centre project with full M&E; scope
High-profile European build with strong delivery teams
Genuine ownership of commercial output
Opportunity to build experience in one of the busiest sectors in construction
Why Kirby Group Engineering

They deliver large, technically demanding projects and back their teams to take responsibility and perform.
For a QS, that means proper exposure, trust, and the chance to work on projects that actually strengthen your profile long-term.
If you're looking for a role where you can take control, be properly involved, and work on a serious M&E; project – this is exactly that.
Kirby Group Engineering is an equal opportunities employer.
We are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates, regardless of race, gender, disability, religion, sexual orientation, or age.
