Health & Safety Advisor – Data Centre Projects
Milan, Italy (across two live project sites)
Up to €63,000 + Package
Full-Time, Permanent
Our client, a leading fit-out contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-specification projects across Europe, is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Adviso r to support the successful delivery of two major data centre projects in Milan .
Working for a specialist subcontractor, you will be responsible for driving health, safety, and environmental standards across both sites, ensuring compliance with company procedures, client requirements, and local regulations. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation operating within the rapidly expanding mission-critical and data centre sector.
The Role
As Health & Safety Advisor, you will work closely with project teams, site management, and client representatives to maintain the highest health and safety standards throughout the construction lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations across both project locations.
- Monitor compliance with company policies, client requirements, and relevant legislation.
- Review and monitor Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
- Support project teams in implementing safe systems of work.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and documentation.
- Track and close out safety observations and audit findings.
- Liaise with client representatives, contractors, and site stakeholders on all HSE matters.
- Promote a positive safety culture and drive continuous improvement across both projects.
- Assist with permit-to-work systems and high-risk construction activities.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in a Health & Safety Advisor, HSE Advisor, or similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction health and safety legislation and best practice.
- Experience working on large-scale construction projects.
- Relevant Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH Construction Certificate, NEBOSH General Certificate, or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work across multiple sites and manage competing priorities.
- Strong auditing, reporting, and incident investigation experience.
Desirable Experience
- Previous data centre, mission-critical, pharmaceutical, industrial, or commercial project experience.
- Experience working for a subcontractor or specialist contractor.
- IOSH Membership or equivalent.
- Knowledge of permit-to-work systems and temporary works safety requirements.
- Italian language skills would be advantageous but are not essential.
