Senior Automation Engineer (Firmware/Embedded) — Freelance | Florence For a tech company in the payment systems sector, were looking for a freelance Senior Automation Engineer specialized in firmware and embedded testing, to ensure the quality of products such as Outdoor Payment Terminals (OPT) and forecourt controllers. What youll do: * Define test strategy and test plans from business requirements * Design and execute automated tests on firmware, hardware-software integration and low-level embedded software * Develop test software to automate regression testing and performance benchmarks * Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines for faster releases * Document test plans, results and releases, managing issue tracking and versioning Requirements (essential):



* 5+ years of experience in hardware-software testing/development with structured methodologies * 3+ years with Java or C++ * Degree in engineering/electronics * Experience in firmware testing, hardware-software integration and validation of low-level embedded software * Test automation frameworks (e.g. TestNG) * Hands-on CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab CI) * Proficiency in Linux (commands and scripting) * Agile methodology Nice to have: retail petroleum/payments sector, EMV/PCI DSS and cryptography, API testing (Postman, REST Assured) on middleware. Logistics: freelance collaboration via Shakers. Florence (Osmannoro), on-site. Occasional travel may be required.
