? We’re Hiring: Engineering Manager

Acireale or Rome, Italy

Full remote (only freelance consultancy agreements)

Employee Salary Range (Gross Annual Salary, RAL): € 35,000.00 - 50,000.00

Contractor Compensation Range (Annualized): € 55,000.00 - 75,000.00

What You'll Do

As an Engineering Manager, you will:

- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers through coaching, feedback, and career development.

- Own delivery planning, team capacity, execution, and engineering outcomes.

- Partner closely with Product Management to define priorities, scope, and realistic delivery commitments.

- Support technical and architectural decisions, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, secure, and reliable.

- Drive engineering excellence through best practices, code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, and continuous improvement.

- Identify and manage technical debt, delivery risks, and cross-team dependencies.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products.

- Recruit, onboard, and develop engineering talent while fostering an inclusive, collaborative culture.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

- 7+ years of professional software engineering experience.





- 2+ years of experience leading or managing software engineering teams.

- Strong hands-on experience with C# and .NET.

- Good working knowledge of React and TypeScript.

- Experience building cloud-based, distributed, or data-intensive applications.

- Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, databases, automated testing, and CI/CD.

- Proven track record of delivering complex software products.

- Excellent communication skills with fluent English.

Nice to Have

- Experience with AWS, microservices, and time-series data.

- Experience in SCADA, industrial automation, renewable energy, or asset management platforms.

- Knowledge of high-availability systems, cybersecurity, and industrial system integrations.
