About the Role

We are seeking an experienced EHS Lead to oversee all Environmental, Health & Safety activities on a major data centre construction project in Milan, Italy. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of best-in-class safety standards, drive a positive safety culture, and ensure full compliance with all relevant legislation and project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the delivery of the project's Environmental, Health & Safety programme.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant EHS legislation, company procedures, and project requirements.
- Review and approve risk assessments, method statements, permits to work, and safe systems of work.
- Promote and maintain a proactive safety culture across all project teams.
- Lead and mentor the site EHS team where applicable.
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety interventions, ensuring corrective actions are completed.
- Deliver safety briefings, inductions, and awareness initiatives to personnel.




- Manage hazardous substances, environmental controls, and associated reporting.
- Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Maintain accurate EHS documentation and provide regular reports to senior management.

Requirements

- Relevant qualification in Environmental, Health & Safety.
- Proven experience leading EHS on large-scale construction projects (data centre experience highly desirable).
- Previous experience managing and developing an EHS team.
- Strong knowledge of EHS legislation, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment with a proactive, solution-focused approach.
