ppbWould you like to move a research organisation's infrastructure into the cloud, and own how it is done?
/b /p pThis role sits with an international scientific and technology centre on the Italian coast at La Spezia.
The work is a genuine migration: assessing what runs on premises today, deciding what belongs in the cloud, then planning, building and running it.
You would be shaping the approach rather than executing someone else's plan.
/p h3What you will be doing /h3 ul liWorking with the IT team to identify and implement the most suitable cloud based solutions /li liPlanning, designing and developing applications both on premises and in the cloud /li liManaging the on premises infrastructure and the cloud environment in line with the organisation's security guidelines /li liLeading and developing best practice for the cloud and systems engineering team /li liSupervising standard system administration on premises and in the cloud: server installation, system and application installation, patch management, Windows and Linux problem determination and resolution,
log analysis /li liOrchestrating and automating on premises and cloud based platforms across the organisation /li liDefining project plans and backlogs, monitoring execution and reporting /li liRunning the team day to day on Agile principles, including daily standups /li /ul h3What you will need /h3 ul liA bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering /li liFour to eight years in a cloud engineer role or a closely related position /li liExperience managing IT projects as project manager, ideally using Agile principles /li liActive Directory Domain Services and Active Directory Federation Services, PKI, OU structures and group policies, DNS, DHCP /li liVMware ESX and VCF /li liLinux and UNIX, Docker and Microsoft Azure /li liWorking knowledge of web services, API, REST and RPC /li liA strong grasp of networking and internet protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP and distributed networks /li /ul h3Why this one is worth a look /h3 pYou get a migration to own end to end, a technical team to lead, and an organisation whose work has a purpose beyond a balance sheet.
