ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced Advanced Procurement Buyer to join the Bus Advanced Procurement Team. This role is ideal for professionals with approximately 3-5 years of experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing or Advanced Purchasing within an automotive, bus, commercial vehicle, or industrial manufacturing environment. The Advanced Procurement Buyer will support Bus product development programs from concept definition through industrialization and Start of Production, ensuring supplier readiness, cost competitiveness, timing alignment, and component availability. The role acts as a procurement interface between Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Commodity Purchasing teams, and suppliers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support Bus development programs from concept phase through industrialization and Start of Production (SOP).
- Collaborate with Commodity Purchasing teams to identify and award the best sourcing solutions based on Total Acquisition Cost principles.
- Manage sourcing activities for new components and support procurement planning throughout the program lifecycle.
- Negotiate Engineering and Platform technical changes with suppliers while ensuring alignment with cost, timing, and quality targets.
- Coordinate sourcing rollout plans and procurement activities for prototype, pre-series, and production components.
- Work closely with cross-functional program teams to achieve project milestones and launch objectives.
- Issue and manage spot orders to support prototype builds and vehicle development activities.
- Monitor supplier readiness and support serial order implementation activities.
- Support supplier codification and onboarding processes to facilitate procurement execution and purchase order release.
- Lead recovery actions in case of supplier capacity, delivery, quality, or commercial issues.
- Track New Part List (NPL) status and ensure sourcing completion according to project timing.
- Negotiate timing plans, commercial conditions, and urgent procurement requirements with suppliers.
- Monitor product piece costs, tooling investments, and supplier development costs against approved targets.
- Support supplier development initiatives and continuous improvement plans to enhance supplier performance.
- Contribute to cost optimization, risk mitigation, and procurement strategy activities across assigned programs.
- Ensure suppliers meet timing, quality, capacity, and industrialization requirements to support successful program launches.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Economics
- 3-5 years of experience in Procurement, Advanced Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, Purchasing, or Supplier Development.
- Experience supporting new product development and industrialization projects within the automotive, bus, commercial vehicle, or manufacturing sectors.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management, RFQ processes, cost analysis, and sourcing methodologies.
- Proven negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret cost structures, business cases, and procurement data.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, international, and matrix organization.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Fluent English; French is strongly recommended.
SALARY INFORMATION:
- Applied Contract: CCSL Contratto Collettivo Specifico di Lavoro Iveco Group
- Grade: 2° Gruppo Qualificato
- Salary range: Euro 40.000 – 47.000
- Variable payment as per CCSL Contratto Collettivo Specifico di Lavoro Iveco Group
