CFD & Cooling Performance Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Performance Engineer (PE) with strong expertise in CFD simulation, 1D thermal system modeling, and full‑vehicle performance evaluation. The engineer will support the development of cooling performance for commercial vehicle programs.

The ideal candidate is highly skilled in Star‑CCM+ , ANSA , and at least one 1D simulation tool such as Amesim , GT‑Power , or similar, and is capable of balancing numerical simulations with experimental correlation, documentation, and cross‑functional alignment.

Workload distribution:

• ~40% CFD simulation activities

• ~10% methodological development

• ~50% reporting, VVP/DVP planning, correlation, project integration

Key Responsibilities

CFD Simulation & Numerical Analysis (about 40%)

• Perform advanced CFD studies for: engine cooling.

• Conduct geometry preparation and high‑quality meshing using ANSA/star-ccm+.

• Set up, run, and post‑process simulations using Star‑CCM+.

• Analyze KPIs, identify performance gaps, propose engineering improvements.

1D Cooling System Modeling

• Develop and maintain 1D models for cooling system sizing loops.

• Use Amesim, GT‑Power, or equivalent tools at an expert level.

• Integrate 1D results with CFD outcomes to support system‑level decisions.

• Perform sensitivity analyses and scenario assessments.

Experimental Correlation & Validation Activities

• Support correlation.

• Participate in on‑road testing campaigns for data collection and model validation.

• Contribute to climatic chamber tests on roller benches.





• Execute structured correlation processes to improve model accuracy

Methodology Development (about 10%)

• Enhance CFD and 1D modeling methodologies, best practices, and automation.

• Improve correlation procedures and validation frameworks.

• Collaborate with CAE specialists to evolve simulation capabilities.

Reporting, Validation Planning & Cross‑Functional Collaboration

• Prepare detailed technical reports, one‑page summaries, and presentations.

• Maintain VVP (Virtual Validation Plan) and DVP (Development Validation Plan).

• Collaborate with VIRs (Vehicle Integration Responsible).

• Support design discussions with simulation and validation insights.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace Engineering, or related fields.

• 7–12 years of experience in simulation and vehicle performance.

• Mandatory proficiency in Star‑CCM+, ANSA, and 1D tools (Amesim, GT‑Power).

• Strong background in aerodynamics, cooling, HVAC, and thermal management.

• Fluent English.

• Willingness to travel.

• Excellent communication and technical writing.

• Ability to work cross‑functionally.

• Proactive and organized.

Nice to Have

• Experience climatic wind tunnel operations.

• Knowledge of co‑simulation approaches.

• Experience in OEM or Tier‑1 environments.
