Electronics Project Engineer – Hazardous Locations (m/f/d)
Possible locations: Milan / Italy – Braunschweig / Germany or Warrington / UK
Work arrangement: On-Site (5 days per week in the office)
Responsibilities
You will be managing customer projects and traveling to conduct or witness tests at client sites (10-15% of the time). As a project engineer in this role, you are ideally experienced with the IEC/EN 60079 series of standards. You will manage projects by analyzing project scope and determining project specifications, establishing test programs for product investigations and preparing reports for clients.
Your tasks
- Independently manage projects in the Hazardous Locations (HazLoc) segment, develop a preliminary plan of investigation and determine project specifications such as cost, time, test plan and sample requirements by analyzing client input, available supplemental data, and product construction.
Projects may include regular travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites.
- Communicate with clients to discuss technical issues, explain UL procedures and requirements, convey project cost and negotiate completion date and sample requirements.
- Act to address client concerns and to resolve client issues.
- Provide technical assistance to clients in reference to product inspection and follow-up services.
- Coordinate laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and instructions to technicians, scheduling and reviewing work of Laboratory Technicians and support staff and establishing completion dates.
- Coordinate administrative aspects of project management and communicate project status and results to clients through frequent contact and by preparing reports.
- Serve as Project Handler of record and may sign as Reviewer of record as assigned.
Qualifications
- University Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or Physics from an accredited program plus four years directly related work experience.
- Detailed knowledge of the technical vocabulary common to the appropriate discipline.
- Working knowledge of conformity standards in use in area of expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to apply project-handling concepts in use in area of expertise.
