Overview

The Application Engineer makes estimations, quotations and cost calculations for agents, customers, and prospects. Consults internally with the Engineering Department concerning quotations, if needed. Technical sizing and usage of simulation tools. Communicates with sub-suppliers regarding technical questions and prices not readily available within the organization.

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities Include

- Create and calculate estimations, quotations, and revisions according to customer inquiries and needs
- Answer technical inquiries by customers on estimations, quotations, and projects
- Able to read and understand electrical heat exchanger and control panel specifications
- Ensure accurate estimation, quotation, and project data in Thermon ERP system, Thermon CPQ system and other relevant (engineering) systems
- Ensure accurate estimation, quotation, and project data by collecting information from sub-suppliers, when information is not readily available in the company
- Communicate effectively with customers
- Maintain files and accurately document all data




- Compile budgetary or detailed calculations and transfer these into competitive (total lowest cost of ownership) proposals, using our pricelist structure
- Support the engineering department in clarifying design issues related to the transfer from offer to detail design

Key Characteristics, Competencies and Skills

- Strong organisational, analytical and commercial skills
- Structured and well-organized approach
- Strong written & oral communication and negotiation skills
- Understand complex technical matters related to process heating; demonstrated understanding of technology, i.e. complexities of products and costs
- Working knowledge of CRM, MS office and ERP systems
- Enthusiastic, flexible and can work on own initiative
- Experience of business to business within technical markets and industries would be an asset

Qualifications

- A locally respected degree in engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
- > 2 years relevant work experience

Salary: $53000 per year
