NTT Global Data Centers is a leading provider of digital infrastructure with over 150 facilities worldwide. We are looking for a Critical Facilities Maintenance Shift Engineer to drive excellence in our data‑centre operations.

Critical Facilities Maintenance Shift Engineer

You will plan, manage and implement the delivery of Facilities Maintenance services to our data centres, ensuring operational performance is always maintained to the highest possible standards. The role involves working a 12‑hour continental shift pattern on a 24/7 rotation.

Responsibilities

- Provide customer‑focused service and maintain high standards of planned preventive and reactive maintenance.
- Proactively evaluate plant and equipment, suggesting improvements where appropriate.
- Accurately record and report maintenance activity to keep the Key Source System updated.
- Carry out operational and maintenance activities in a safe and suitable manner.
- Ensure timely completion of PPMs and reactive work to SLA deadlines.
- Act as the High Voltage Authorized Person, managing the inspection and testing programme.
- Supervise all operational and maintenance activities to meet SLA requirements.
- Support the Shift Engineering Teams to ensure correct operation of critical services.
- Obtain site sign‑off for works and accept successful completion, ensuring all RA,



MS and technical sign‑off is in place before work commences.
- Deliver services to the highest technical standards, minimizing risk and following site and best‑practice processes.

Qualifications

- 17th Edition certified or similar electrical qualification.
- HND or equivalent in a relevant discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services).
- Good understanding of data‑centre cooling solutions and building services.
- Authorized person (LV) or (HV) – preferably.
- Membership of relevant institutes (IET, BIFM, CIBSE, etc.).
- F‑GAS / J11 certification is an advantage.
- Demonstrated experience in operating and fault‑finding complex M&E; systems (transformers, LV, generators, UPS, electrical distribution, BMS, air‑conditioning, fire suppression).
- Experience in facilities, operations or engineering within a data‑centre critical environment.
- Knowledge of engineering operations in business‑critical environments and a commitment to safety.
- Experience creating SOP and EOP documentation and related processes.
- Initiative, analytical mindset and willingness to ask appropriate questions.
- Full driving licence valid for use in the UK.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Familiarity with BS7858:2019 security checks is required.
