Data Engineer - QuantumBlack, AI by McKinsey

In this role you will build foundational data infrastructure powering cutting-edge AI applications. You’ll design scalable data pipelines, manage secure data environments, and prepare data for AI-driven systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams and clients. You’ll contribute to R&D; efforts to scale next‑generation AI capabilities and work within a global data engineering community. - Design and maintain scalable data pipelines for AI systems
- Manage secure data environments and data quality for ML workflows
- Collaborate with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and clients to deliver AI solutions
- Prepare and transform data, translating hypotheses into engineered features




- Contribute to R&D; initiatives focused on scalable AI capabilities
- Build robust data foundations for production-ready AI systems
- Assess data landscapes and apply data governance
- Support cross‑functional teams in Agile environments
- Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Experience in a data‑focused role (internships, academic projects)
- Proficiency in Python and SQL with ability to write clean, well‑documented code
- Familiarity xysqume with data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, PSQL) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Engineeering tools (Pandas, Spark, dbt, LangChain)
- Exposure to DevOps, MLOps/LLMOps, CI/CD concepts
- Strong time management in autonomous work environments
- Willingness to learn quickly and adapt to different projects and tech stacks
- Experience using coding agents (Cursor, Claude Code, Codex) is a plus
- Strong communication skills in English and French
