A fast-growing fintech in Milan is looking for a Senior Dev

Ops Engineer to take ownership of a cloud-native platform running on Google Cloud Platform, built on Kubernetes, Terraform and Flux CD.

The challenge
This is the first full-time Dev

Ops hire.

The infrastructure exists and works, but the practices around it are still being defined.

You will assess the current IaC implementation, close the gap between test and production, and set the standard for how the platform is deployed, observed and recovered.

The product handles financial operations for thousands of SMEs, so reliability and compliance are not optional extras.

️ Responsibilities
Own the cloud infrastructure end to end: reliability, scalability and security posture.

Assess the existing Terraform implementation and replicate best practices from test to production.

Optimize and automate CI/CD pipelines with Git

Hub Actions and Flux CD.

Strengthen the observability framework (Prometheus, Grafana, Google-native tooling, Open

Telemetry).

Draft and implement disaster recovery plans for core infrastructure components.

Partner with the Payments, Onboarding and Billing teams to build resilience and recovery into their applications.

Drive cost optimization and performance tuning across GCP services.

Document infrastructure, operational procedures and architectural decisions.





Act as the internal reference for Dev

Ops practices and mentor the wider tech team.

Keep the platform aligned with regulatory and security compliance requirements, including external audit readiness.

✅ Requirements
4+ years in Dev

Ops, SRE or Software Engineering roles with strong operational exposure.

Extensive hands-on GCP experience: GKE, Compute Engine, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub, Cloud Monitoring.

Terraform at production scale.

Docker and Kubernetes.
CI/CD design and implementation, ideally with Git

Hub Actions.

Monitoring and logging with Prometheus and Open

Telemetry.

Experience with distributed systems.

Strong troubleshooting across application, network (TCP/IP) and system layers.

Fluent English.

Nice to have
Event-driven architectures with Pub/Sub or Kafka.

Performance and cost optimization in high-traffic environments.
MLOps.

Background in regulated sectors (finance, healthcare, crypto).

Node.js or Type

Script for automation and tooling.
