ppRINA is currently recruiting for a Trieste Junior Machinery Plan Approval Engineer to join its office in Trieste, Italy within the Mediterranean and Africa Marine Division. /p h3Mission /h3 pThe Junior Machinery Plan Approval Engineer focuses on supporting the review and approval of machinery plans and drawings, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and client requirements. The position is an entry-level opportunity for recent graduates to gain experience in marine engineering by assisting in the approval of new building and conversion/modification of existing vessels/ yachts. /p h3Key Accountabilities /h3 ul liSupport the review and approval process of machinery and related systems/plants drawings for ships, offshore units, and marine equipment in compliance with Class Rules and Statutory Regulations. /li liAssist engineers/senior engineers in verifying compliance with applicable RINA rules, international conventions, and contractual requirements. /li liHelp identify and resolve issues related to conflicting design requirements and material standards. /li liProvide assistance to clients and shipyards during the design and construction phase, under the guidance of senior engineers. /li liParticipate in the elaboration of detailed marine engineering plan reviews, gaining exposure to industry standards and regulations. /li liSupport project documentation activities, including technical reports and engineering drawings. /li liAssist in day-to-day engineering tasks, including data gathering, document submission, and coordination with internal teams. /li liParticipate in site visits and measurements under supervision to gain hands-on experience.



/li liCollaborate with project teams to learn project management concepts and contribute to assigned tasks. /li liDevelop an understanding of machinery system design, safety requirements, and regulatory compliance. /li /ul h3Education /h3 pMaster’s Degree in Naval Engineering or Mechanical Engineering /p h3Qualifications /h3 ul liBasic knowledge of marine machinery systems, such as propulsion, auxiliary machinery, and power generation on vessels (academic exposure or internship experience preferred). /li liFamiliarity with international marine regulations and standards (e.g., IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, etc.) is a plus. /li liStrong analytical skills with a keen interest in problem-solving and technical assessments. /li liAbility to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate with senior engineers. /li liProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); familiarity with CAD software is an advantage. /li liGood communication skills, with the ability to learn and convey technical concepts effectively. /li liWillingness to learn and develop expertise in the marine engineering field. /li liFluency in English; additional languages are a plus. /li /ul h3Competencies /h3 ul liFORESIGHT INSIGHT - Context awareness adopting a systemic perspective and informed decision making. /li liWORKPLACE DYNAMICS - Resourcefulness in shaping progress and working efficiently.

The gross annual salary range foreseen is between b€31,000 and €38,000 /b and will be finally defined on candidate’s professional experience, qualifications, competencies and overall alignment with the role. In addition, an annual variable compensation component is provided, based on both Company and individual performance objectives in accordance with the current policies and collective agreements.
