In this role you will develop and optimize plant layouts for nuclear and complex facilities, ensuring integration of mechanical, piping, HVAC, EC&I;, and civil interfaces. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions for new builds, revamps, and life-extension projects, balancing constructability, safety, and operability.
You will drive layout optimization, support on-site field engineering, and coordinate interfaces with stakeholders to ensure compliant, maintainable designs. This position offers the opportunity to shape modular solutions and off-site fabrication while operating in a multicultural environment.

- Develop plant layouts for nuclear power plants, process systems and mechanical installations
- Define the arrangement of main plant equipment, piping, supports, HVAC, EC&I; raceways, and cable trays ensuring integration with civil works
- Develop piping layouts from P&IDs; and process requirements considering constraints and data
- Support piping support philosophy and layout choices with respect to flexibility, thermal expansion, loads and stress analysis
- Assist the design and integration of modular plant solutions, skids and prefabricated systems
- Perform layout optimization for constructability, operability, maintainability, accessibility and safety
- Conduct fit-for-service assessments of existing plants and installations for new operating conditions or revamping
- Define Bill of Materials for piping, supports, HVAC ducts and cable trays
- Support on-site installation field engineering, construction queries and as-built documentation
- Coordinate mono-disciplinary working groups and manage interfaces with project stakeholders
- Master Degree in Mechanical, Nuclear or Civil Engineering
- At least 5 years' experience in mechanical components or layout design
- Knowledge of plant components, process fluid systems, and main electrical layout needs
- Experience with 3D modelling (AVEVA E3D, Smart Plant 3D, CATIA, Revit, Navisworks) and 2D drawings (AutoCAD) with BIM integration
- Familiarity with applicable construction or manufacturing norms (ASME, EN, ANSI)
- Knowledge of EU safety directives (Machinery, PED, ATEX) and environmental/seismic qualification
- Understanding brownfield design constraints and phased construction
- Ability to perform fit-for-service assessments and interpret piping stress analysis and support design principles
- Strong interdisciplinary mindset to integrate inputs from multiple disciplines
- Experience in modularization, skid-based design, prefabrication and off-site fabrication
- Fluent in English; willingness to travel
