ppThe Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design of controls systems for the Makino product lines, including horizontal machining centers, vertical machining centers, and transport systems. The controls designs include standard options required for the North American and South American markets, along with custom options that are required for special customer requirements. /ph3ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES and AUTHORITIES /h3pinclude the following. Others may be assigned. /pulliDevelop electrical/control designs for special Makino product options and the required documentation for special options/modifications per customer request/order to accurately represent the completed designs. /liliMaintain and update, from Makino Japan engineering change notices, all electrical documentation for machining center products produced by Makino. /liliProvide technical support to sales/customers as required. /liliProvide technical support to Field Service as required to support the products. /liliMaintain a working knowledge of the local governing regulations and specifications that pertain to the Makino product lines. /liliCommunicate with MT on electrical technical matters concerning local products and other products. /liliWork with and suggest new concepts for product/system improvements while keeping current of latest technology and the competition’s specifications. /liliKeep manager/supervisor advised as to the status of all assigned projects. /liliPerform other duties as required or assigned. /liliFrequent contact with other departments of company, vendors, occasional contact with customers and upper staff. /liliInterface with vendors, customers, and other Makino team members to successfully complete assigned projects and tasks.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. /pulliKnowledge and experience with AutoCAD or other electrical design packages utilized within the group /liliKnowledge of electrical design practices /liliKnowledge of applicable industrial electrical standards regulations /liliExperience with ladder logic programming is desirable but not required /liliWorking knowledge of machine control systems and their application to the Makino product lines /liliAble to utilize Office products: Word, Excel, etc. /liliEffective verbal and written communication skills /liliEffective technical leadership skills to direct peer engineers on technical matters /li /ulpReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. /ph3EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE /h3ulliA 2-year associate’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent work experience is required.
