As Baccarat prepares to unveil its first hotel in Europe, we are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead one of the most anticipated luxury hotel openings in Rome. /pp This is a rare opportunity to be part of a landmark pre-opening from the very beginning—bringing an iconic property to life before leading its ongoing engineering operation as it welcomes guests from around the world. /pp At Baccarat, perfection is never accidental. As Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the hotel's physical environment reflects the same uncompromising standards as the Baccarat name itself. /pp The Opportunity /pp Reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, the manager will provide operational leadership across all engineering, maintenance, building systems and asset management functions throughout both the pre-opening and operational phases of the hotel. /pp During pre-opening, you will assist to establish the engineering department from the ground up—developing systems, recruiting and mentoring your team, commissioning building services, managing defects and contractor relationships, implementing preventative maintenance programmes and ensuring every aspect of the hotel is ready for opening day. /pp Once operational, you will continue to supervise the department, protecting one of Rome's most prestigious luxury assets while delivering an environment that is safe, efficient, sustainable and flawlessly maintained. /pp What You Will Do /pulli Assist with the development of departmental operating standards, policies, procedures and preventative maintenance programmes. /lili Coordinate building commissioning, systems testing and hotel readiness activities. /lili Oversee snagging, defect management and warranty processes. /lili Implement the hotel's Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).



/lili Ensure full compliance with Italian statutory requirements, fire and life safety regulations and luxury brand standards. /lili Partner closely with operational departments to support a seamless hotel opening. /lili Supervise the day-to-day operation of the Engineering Department. /lili Deliver preventative and reactive maintenance programmes that minimise downtime while protecting the guest experience. /lili Drive continuous improvements in asset reliability, operational efficiency and sustainability. /lili Respond calmly and effectively to operational incidents and emergencies. /lili Foster a culture of safety, accountability, craftsmanship and continuous improvement throughout the department. /li /ulp About You /pulli You are an accomplished hotel engineering leader with a passion for luxury hospitality and a reputation for delivering excellence. /lili You understand that engineering is far more than maintaining equipment—it is about creating an environment where guests never notice what works because everything simply does. /lili You thrive in pre-opening environments, enjoy building teams from the ground up and take pride in developing systems that stand the test of time. /li /ulp What You'll Bring /pulli Leadership experience within luxury hotels, resorts or iconic hospitality assets. /lili Previous pre-opening experience is highly desirable. /lili Extensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire and life safety systems. /lili Understanding of Italian building compliance, health and safety legislation and statutory requirements. /lili Experience working with preventative maintenance strategies and CMMS platforms. /lili Proven ability to supervise multidisciplinary engineering teams. /lili Strong commercial acumen with experience managing operational and capital budgets. /lili Exceptional project management and contractor management skills. /lili Calm, decisive leadership during operational challenges and emergencies. /lili A commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency and responsible asset management. /lili Excellent communication skills with fluency in Italian.
