What you'll do
- Design and implement data infrastructure and platforms leveraging streaming technologies, including Apache Kafka, Flink, and Kafka Streams.
- Develop robust Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) pipelines to facilitate extensive data operations.
- Utilize software engineering best practices to architect, build, and deploy large-scale streaming applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of data solutions into existing systems.
- Monitor and optimize the performance of data platforms to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to data processing and application performance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes and methodologies.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance our data capabilities.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in the software engineering field.
- Demonstrated expertise in building and managing fault-tolerant, data-intensive platforms using streaming technologies such as Kafka, Pinot, or Flink.
- Knowledge of large-scale relational and non-relational databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB,
and Elasticsearch, to address low-latency requirements.
- Experience in data management practices, including ETL processes, data governance, and data storage solutions.
- Proven track record in developing and deploying applications in cloud-native environments.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to containerized applications in Kubernetes settings.
- Familiarity with various package and dependency management tools such as Maven, Gradle, and NPM.
- Strong grasp of software design principles and architectural patterns.
- Must achieve Security+ certification within the first 90 days of employment.
Nice to have
- Experience working with Kubernetes for container orchestration.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and logging solutions (e.g., Fluentbit, Kibana, Loki) in cloud-native environments.
- Solid understanding of Helm Charts for managing Kubernetes applications.
- Knowledge of service mesh technologies like Istio.
- Experience with enterprise-level Cloud applications or infrastructure.
- Proficiency in automation scripting languages such as Python or GoLang.
Clearance Requirements:
- An active Secret Clearance is required to start, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
Salary Range: $140,000 - $190,000
- Compensation will be based on the candidate's overall experience, skills,
and qualifications.
Work Type:
- Hybrid work model based in Rome, NY, Hanscom, or the National Capital Region.
- Domestic travel may be necessary, up to 35%, to visit customer sites.
