Finance Manager, Shared Service Accounting

Overview

In this role you will oversee accounting and reporting for Italy, Spain and Portugal, leading the local accounting team and ensuring compliance with Leica and Danaher policies. You will drive close processes, local GAAP reporting, and alignment with US GAAP while maintaining strong controls. As a business partner, you will provide meaningful insights to regional leaders and support strategic decisions. The position is on-site in Buccinasco, Milan and offers a path to impact across a multinational finance environment.

Responsibilities

- Ensure ledgers for Italy, Spain and Portugal comply with Danaher and Leica policies and local regulations; manage filings timely
- Coordinate operational accounting processes for the regional ledgers, including posting, payments, VAT and team leadership
- Lead the Italian close process: review trial balances, cost center expenses, journal entries, reconciliations, and quarterly disclosures




- Maintain finance controls including SOX compliance and generate local GAAP financial statements; reconcile local to US GAAP
- Act as a business partner to local leaders, delivering reports and analysis to support various business areas

Qualifications

- Minimum 8 years in finance with strong tax/finance focus; solid knowledge of Italian GAAP and Italian tax; US GAAP preferred
- Progressive accounting/controllership experience in a multinational environment
- Proven ability to develop, implement and improve processes with strong analytical skills
- Team player, process-oriented, hands‑on
- Fluency in English; German a plus
- Travel up to 10%
