Lead renewable energy consultant- SolarLeap 29 are excited to be recruiting an experienced Lead Energy Consultant – Solar on behalf of a leading international renewable energy consultancy with a strong reputation across the European market.The company specialises in technical and commercial consultancy across renewable energy, with expertise in utility-scale solar and the wider energy transition.
With an established presence across Italy and Europe and continued growth, you will be joining a dynamic international team delivering expert advice to developers, operators, lenders and investors across large-scale solar projects.What You Will Be DoingYour work will be focused primarily on technical and commercial consultancy services for utility-scale solar photovoltaic projects.
You will be advising developers, operators, lenders and investors in the Italian market, as well as supporting projects across other European countries.Specific activities will include:Business development within the solar sector, building client relationships and helping to win new work.Leading technical and commercial due diligence for utility-scale solar projects and portfolios, acting as Project Director, Project Manager and technical lead where required.Assessing technical and commercial risks that could impact project performance, financial models, project timelines, CAPEX and OPEX, while proposing suitable mitigation measures.Reviewing key project areas including grid connection, land agreements, permitting, environmental constraints, project design, construction strategy,
operational contracts and project schedules.Delivering bespoke Owner's Engineer services for solar projects.Supporting strategic industry initiatives and contributing to working groups and sector activities.Managing multiple projects while coordinating internal and external resources.Requirements We are looking for someone who is motivated to take the next step in their renewables consulting career by building on their technical expertise and industry network to become a recognised leader within the solar sector.You will have a reputation for delivering high-quality consultancy services, building trusted client relationships and combining strong technical knowledge with commercial understanding.The company recognises that exceptional candidates may bring different strengths and encourages applications from individuals who are passionate about renewable energy and eager to continue developing their expertise.Essential Skills & QualificationsDegree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or another relevant technical discipline.
Minimum 8–10 years' experience within renewable energy consultancy, with a strong focus on utility scale solar.Extensive experience leading technical due diligence across utility-scale solar projects.Strong understanding of solar project development, grid connection, permitting, environmental considerations and construction processes.Experience reviewing EPC, O&M; and other renewable energy construction and operation contracts.Ability to assess technical risks and understand their commercial implications across project financing and investment transactions.Proven track record of building and maintaining long-term client relationships and contributing to business development.Excellent consultancy skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.Strong report writing and communication skills in English.Willingness to travel as required.Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a client-focused consulting environment.PreferredOwner's Engineer, construction monitoring or asset management experience within utility-scale solar.Experience working across European solar markets.If you are interested in this amazing opportunity, please send your CV through to Shannon.
