DXC Technology Italy is looking for an Observability Engineer / System Administrator to join the C&I; offering.Responsibilities

- Designing, implementing, and maintaining complex monitoring and observability platforms for infrastructure, applications, and services.
- Integrating monitoring solutions with heterogeneous environments, including on‑premise systems and public cloud platforms.
- Managing and evolving existing monitoring systems to ensure scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Defining monitoring standards, alerting strategies, dashboards, and reporting to support proactive incident detection and resolution.
- Collaborating with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to ensure comprehensive system visibility.
- Contributing to incident investigation, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Producing and maintaining technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Acting as a technical reference and mentor for junior colleagues, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.

RequirementsMonitoring & Observability Tools
- Strong hands‑on experience with open‑source monitoring tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, Grafana.
- Familiarity with observability concepts and tools, including OpenTelemetry and Prometheus (considered a plus).
- Experience with commercial monitoring platforms such as Nagios XI and AWS CloudWatch.
- Additional experience with Dynatrace and/or Azure Monitor is highly appreciated.

System Administration & Integration
- Solid experience administering Linux‑based systems in complex, distributed environments.
- Proven ability to integrate monitoring platforms with existing infrastructure and operational processes.




- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, and system performance concepts.

Cloud & Hybrid Environments
- Practical experience monitoring workloads deployed on public cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
- Exposure to hybrid environments combining on‑premise and cloud infrastructures.

Work Location Rome with smart working possibility.

Compensation The position offers a gross annual base salary starting from €36,000. Compensation is determined in line with the applicable collective labor agreement (Contratto Collettivo Nazionale di Lavoro per l’industria metalmeccanica e della installazione di impianti) and based on objective and gender‑neutral criteria, including responsibility, experience and skills.
