Laboratory Technician (Refrigeration)Role Purpose: The Laboratory Technician operates within the Innovation Lab, the company area dedicated to performing functional and performance testing on electronic devices used for the control and regulation of commercial refrigeration systems (e.G., refrigerated display cases, bottle coolers, condensing units, etc.). The role is responsible for the preparation, execution, and validation of functional tests for electronic controllers, both on prototypes and on products intended for market release, once installed in final applications. In addition, the position actively supports the development of new products, with a focus on improving overall performance and quality.Key Responsibilities
- Analyze technical documentation and identify the resources required for test execution
- Define and plan test procedures and test plans
- Prepare test benches, including wiring modifications, installation and positioning of measurement instrumentation
- Execute functional tests, performance tests, and validation activities on electronic controllers installed in real refrigeration systems
- Monitor, collect, and analyze test data
- Prepare detailed technical reports, including configurations, methodologies, and results
- Support product development, prototyping, and system tuning activities
- Manage, maintain, and calibrate laboratory equipment
- Handle laboratory technical documentation
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance) and international teams
Technical Requirements
- Knowledge of refrigeration cycle principles and key components (compressors, evaporators, condensers, valves, refrigerants, etc.)
- Understanding of commercial refrigeration applications
- Experience with measurement instrumentation and data acquisition systems
- Basic knowledge of electronics, with the ability to operate electronic systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics (controllers and applications)
- Basic experience measuring, interpreting, and verifying electrical signals and I/O functionality of electronic controllers
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in laboratory testing or engineering environments
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards
- Familiarity with advanced data acquisition tools and analysis software
- Experience with automation systems or programmable controllers
- Basic technical English proficiency
