As HSE Manager you will lead the Health, Safety and Environmental function on a flagship hyperscale data centre project in Milan. You’ll shape and drive the HSE strategy, ensuring top-tier performance across construction and commissioning phases. You’ll work with the Project Director and senior leaders to foster a proactive safety culture and deliver compliant, evidence-based HSE outcomes. This role offers impact at scale within Europe’s advanced mission-critical developments.

Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the HSE Management System on site

Promote a proactive safety culture across the project

Manage and mentor the site HSE team

Ensure compliance with company procedures, client standards, and legislation

Lead site inspections, audits, and safety tours with timely corrective actions

Review RAMS and permit-to-work systems for high-risk activities

Lead investigations into accidents, incidents and near misses with root cause analysis

Advise project leadership on HSE performance and improvement initiatives

Monitor subcontractor HSE performance across work packages

Produce HSE reports, KPI data and performance metrics for senior management and client

Liaise with clients, consultants and regulatory authorities on HSE matters

Proven experience as HSE Manager or Senior HSE professional within construction

NEBOSH Diploma (or xkiyazw equivalent) preferred; NEBOSH Construction/General Certificate considered with relevant experience

Chartered or Graduate IOSH membership desirable

Excellent knowledge of HSE legislation and best practice

Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills

Experience managing HSE teams in fast-paced construction environments
