KSI Solar is an innovative international renewable energy company specialising in the design, manufacture and supply of advanced solar tracker systems and utility-scale photovoltaic solutions. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Finance Director (Consultant) to strengthen our financial management systems, reporting capabilities and operational controls.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced finance executive, ideally someone seeking a flexible consultancy role where they can make a significant strategic contribution to a growing international business.
Role Description: The Finance Director will work closely with senior management to establish, improve and oversee the company's financial management systems, reporting structures and performance monitoring processes. Initially, the position is expected to require the equivalent of approximately 2–3 days per week, with working hours spread across the business week. As the company grows and systems become established, the level of engagement may increase or decrease depending on business requirements.
The successful candidate will spend sufficient time at our offices in Novara, Italy, particularly during the implementation phase, to ensure effective integration of financial systems and procedures.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement robust financial management systems and reporting structures. Establish management reporting procedures that provide timely, accurate and meaningful financial information to senior management. Define, implement and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across the business.
Develop KPI dashboards and benchmarking reports to measure operational and financial performance against industry standards. Design, implement and continuously improve cash flow forecasting, monitoring and reporting systems. Provide strategic financial analysis of revenues, costs, profitability, working capital and overall business performance.
Monitor project profitability on a project-by-project basis and implement appropriate financial controls and reporting. Support budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning. Work closely with the Accounting & Finance Manager and finance team to strengthen financial discipline, internal controls and financial governance.
Coordinate with the Holding Company's finance and accounting teams to ensure appropriate consolidation, reporting and financial integration. Assist in the preparation of Board reports, shareholder presentations and annual financial statements. Review operational processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, profitability and financial performance.
Provide strategic financial guidance and advice to senior management on business performance, investment decisions and future growth. Develop and maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions and funding partners. Prepare and present financing applications,
business cases and supporting financial documentation.
Participate in negotiations with banks and financial institutions and provide ongoing support in securing financing facilities, project funding and operational working capital. Support the implementation of financial systems and procedures that enable scalable growth and effective management of an international business.
Candidate
Profile - The ideal candidate will have: Minimum 10 years' experience in a senior financial leadership role (Finance Director, CFO or equivalent). Strong practical experience in financial management, management reporting and business analysis. Proven experience implementing KPIs, financial controls and cash flow management systems.
Excellent understanding of corporate finance, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning. Demonstrated experience working within multinational organisations and cross-border business operations. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent commercial judgement.
Ability to work independently while acting as a trusted adviser to senior management. Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
Experience within manufacturing, engineering, renewable energy, industrial equipment or project-based businesses would be highly advantageous.
Qualifications: University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline. Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) would be an advantage. Fluency in Italian and English is essential.
