MSC Cruises is recruiting for its IT & Cyber Security department a Cyber Defense Junior Specialist to join our team. The position will execute and deliver cyber security projects on both shoreside and onboard environments and help accelerate MSC Cruises journey to protect computer systems, networks, and data. The successful candidate will also update and tune security tools. (Firewalls).

The role involves remote support to the incident response cyber unit. Operate and optimize security tooling/products, including security email gateway, firewall, IDS/IPS, web security gateway, emergency detect and response, logging and auditing, event and incident management, privileged access management and authentication. Update documentation and maintain security controls and tools as needed.

Support the implementation of new security controls and software. Supports IT during patching and vulnerability remediation phases. Analyze and respond to previously undisclosed software and hardware vulnerabilities.

Support IT and Users during technical troubleshooting. Review on a continuous improvement of configurations to increase level of security and protection.

QUALIFICATIONS (skills, Competencies, Experience) A degree in computer science, IT,



Computer engineering or related qualification. Minimum 4+ years' of experience in network security or another cyber security role. Good Knowledge of operating systems' administration and of network security technologies (e.g. security email gateway, firewall, IDS/IPS, web security gateway, emergency detect and response, etc.).

Italian as primary language and fluent English. Available to support on call operation activities during non-standard working hours. Knowledge and/or certification on following solutions is considered a plus: Palo Alto, Proofpoint, Zscaler, Checkpoint, Microsoft Azure/O365.

The following certifications are considered a plus: CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, SANS GIAC. In compliance with the applicable pay transparency legislation, the following information is provided regarding the initial compensation foreseen for the position.

Contract Type of contract: Permanent Hybrid working model: 2 days per week remotely Applicable Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL): "Addetti agli uffici ed ai terminals delle società di navigazione che esercitano l'armamento privato" – sez. Gross annual salary (RAL): between €30.000 – €37.000 gross per year, paid over 14 monthly installments Meal vouchers: worth €8 per on-site working day The offer in terms of salary will be determined based on the candidate's professional experience, technical competencies, and the level of autonomy and responsibility assigned to the role.
