Buyer, Indirect Purchasing, Regional Commodity Workplace Type: Onsite The Category Buyer is responsible for managing the sourcing of multiple sub‑categories within a broader category. This role ensures supplier strategy alignment, cost optimisation, contract negotiation, and risk management while supporting the overall category strategy led by the Global Category Manager Procurement and Regional Category Manager Procurement.
The Category
Buyer plays a key role in supplier selection, market analysis, cost negotiations, and ensuring supplier performance meets business requirements. Accountable for savings target execution for Operations and Facilities categories in Italy.
Supplier Management: Identify, qualify, and manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluations and contract negotiations.
Contract Negotiation: Lead negotiations to secure favourable terms, pricing, and conditions. Responsible for RFx preparation, execution, and analysis. For commodities in scope develop, and/or assist Regional and Global Category Managers to execute long‑term strategy deployment, supplier cost modelling, supplier opportunity assessments, supplier financial analysis, make/buy analyses, negotiations, long‑term contract establishment, continuous supplier performance improvement, and supplier relationship development.
Assist the Regional and Global Category Managers in successfully contracting suppliers to provide AGCO with cost‑optimised commodities.
Manages priorities and competing demands, with a sense of optimism, flexibility, and ownership, effectively managing internal customer expectations including special projects.
Required Experience and Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Minimum 3 years of prior experience in sourcing, preferably in indirect operations categories, with knowledge of the Purchase‑to‑Pay process. Team player capable of working in a multicultural environment, constantly seeking improvements, driving change, motivating others, with strong analytical, influencing, and negotiation skills.
Good knowledge of ERP systems, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent communication skills in English and Italian. Attractive, fair remuneration including participation in our premio scheme. Balance of work, family and free time owing to flexible working time.
Private health insurance with partial coverage of medical expenses. Canteen with meal allowance. You will work 4 days onsite from our Breganze site. 35,000 – €55,000 gross annual salary. Final remuneration will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills and qualifications, in compliance with applicable EU pay transparency and pay equity regulations.
