Job Summary
The eBeam technology represents a major breakthrough in packaging sterilisation, enabling high-speed production, reduced operational costs, and significant reductions in the use of chemicals, water, and energy. We are looking for talented people across multiple areas—Development, Engineering, Production, and Supplier Management—to help drive the evolution of our eBeam system for today’s and tomorrow’s filling equipment.
This role contributes to efficient production, consistent weld quality, and continuous improvement through equipment setup, monitoring, basic programming, and troubleshooting of automated manufacturing cells.
- Operation of automated laser welding cells, including robotics and peripheral equipment
- Responsibility for process stability, weld quality, and equipment availability
- Execution of robot program adjustments, parameter settings, and production changeovers
- Close collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance, and Quality
This is a permanent position, based in Modena-Italy. For knowledge transfer from Flamatt site, travel to Switzerland is required at the beginning of the assignment
What you will do
Production & Equipment Operation
- Operate and monitor automated laser welding systems during production
- Set up machines and robotic cells according to work instructions, programs, and production orders
- Perform changeovers, tool adjustments, and parameter settings (laser power, speed, positioning, etc.)
- Ensure stable operation of robots, laser sources, clamping systems, and safety equipment
Robotics & Programming
- Load, start, and adjust robot programs for laser welding applications
- Perform basic robot programming or teaching (e.g. path corrections, position adjustments)
- Support optimization of welding sequences in collaboration with Engineering
- Identify and correct basic program‑related issues within defined limits
Quality & Process Control
- Monitor weld quality characteristics during production
- Perform in‑process checks and document results according to quality requirements
- Identify deviations and initiate corrective actions in cooperation with Quality and Engineering
- Support root‑cause analysis for welding defects or process instabilities
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform first‑level troubleshooting on automated systems and robots
- Support Maintenance during planned servicing, calibration, and repairs
- Recognize equipment abnormalities early and ensure safe escalation
Safety & Continuous Improvement
- Strict adherence to laser safety, robot safety, and industrial safety regulations
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (process, quality, ergonomics)
- Support implementation of new equipment, products, or process changes
We believe you have
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of automated production systems
- Experience with industrial robots (e.g. ABB, KUKA, FANUC, or similar)
- Basic knowledge of robot programming / teach‑in methods
- Understanding of laser welding processes or comparable joining technologies
- Ability to read technical drawings and work instructions
- Basic understanding of PLC‑controlled equipment is an advantage

Education & Experience
- Completed vocational education in mechanics, automation, mechatronics, polymechanics, or a related technical field
(Swiss EFZ / Lehrabschluss or internationally equivalent qualification)
- Experience in automated or robot‑supported production environments is highly preferred
- Experience in laser welding, automated joining, or high‑precision manufacturing is an advantage
- Practical exposure to robot operation and basic programming required
