Overview: Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare.
As a partner section, MSF Italy is engaged in saving lives and alleviating suffering through fundraising; communication and advocacy, recruitment and deployment of field workers; as well as running operations in Italy and supporting international operations through expertise and other kinds of direct support. The **Foundations area**, within the **HVD Unit**, aims to maximize income from Italian grant-making foundations through acquisition, retention and upgrade actions, in line with the Médecins Sans Frontières’ global values, MSF Italy’s policies and the guidelines of the **Fundraising & Data Department**.
The Foundations area defines the strategy targeting religious, banking, and general grant-making foundations, consistent with MSF’s goals. In collaboration with the Major Donors and Corporate areas, contributes to the development of the strategy and operational plan for Family and Corporate Foundations. **Responsibilities**: The **Foundations Manager**: - Develops and proposes to the Head of High Value Donors new strategies to increase fundraising from Foundations (religious, banking, general grantmaking), in order to maximize income from high-potential targets;
- Develops plans to create new partnerships and to improve /reactivate existing relationships with Foundations;
- Develops proposals suited for funding opportunities, in collaboration with the Funding Units of MSF's Operational Centers, the Programs Department and the Finance Department;
- Manages scouting and profiling activities in order to enrich the portfolio of new Foundations to be approached;
- Promotes the support of the Emergency Fund to acquire new prospects in case of Humanitarian Emergencies;
- Develops work model(s) to ensure right timelines for proposals and reporting by ensuring proper time management;
- Produces narrative and financial reporting, in collaboration with the Funding Units of the MSF Operational Centers, the Programs Department, the Finance Department, and external collaborators;
- Develops tools for monitoring income and expenditure of the Foundations area;
- Coordinates with other MSF Italy’s Units (Press, Digital,...) to develop communication plans related to partnerships and their content;
- Participates in MSF's international Community of Practice dedicated to fundraising from foundations. Qualifications:

**Contract**: Fixed-term contract of 12 months with potential extension. Full-time. Level I of Italian CCNL of Commerce. **Expected start date**: October 2024 **Location**: Hybrid. MSF Italy Rome or Milan office, and from home.
