ph3Job Description /h3 pRenesas is seeking a highly experienced Principal Test Engineer to drive advanced test development for new products within the Performance Computing Power (PCP) business unit in Catania, Italy. /p pThis role is a key technical position combining deep hands‑on expertise with strategic influence across product development and production. As a senior individual contributor, the selected candidate will define and lead test methodologies, guide complex technical decisions, and act as a reference point for the broader engineering team. /p pYou will work on cutting‑edge power management solutions, including multiphase controllers, smart power stages, and 48V system power regulators. /p h3Key Responsibilities /h3 ul liLead bend-to-end test strategy definition /b for new product development, ensuring scalability, quality, and cost efficiency /li liDefine and drive adoption of bbest‑in‑class test methodologies /b, btest plan development /b, bDFT approaches /b, and bATE hardware design /b /li liAct as btechnical leader and mentor /b for test engineers, supporting capability growth across the team /li liEnsure brobust production release /b, including high coverage, test time optimization, and manufacturability /li liLead broot cause analysis and yield improvement initiatives /b, applying advanced statistical and data‑driven techniques /li liCollaborate cross‑functionally with bDesign, Product Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams /b worldwide /li liProvide technical leadership in bcustomer interactions, escalations, and quality investigations /b /li liInfluence btest roadmap and long‑term strategy /b, aligning with business and product requirements /li liSupport bcost reduction initiatives /b through test optimization and efficiency improvements /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul libBachelor’s degree in electrical/computer engineering /b (master’s preferred)
/li libTypically 12+ years of experience /b in test engineering for analog/mixed‑signal or power management ICs /li liExtensive expertise in bATE test development /b (Advantest 93K, Teradyne/Eagle, SPEA, COHU) /li liStrong knowledge of bDFT techniques, test coverage analysis, and production flows /b /li liProven experience in bcomplex product bring‑up, debug, and production ramp /b /li liAdvanced skills in bdata analysis, statistical methods, and yield optimization /b /li liStrong programming skills C/C++, Python or similar is a plus /li liDeep understanding of bATE instrumentation, signal integrity, and hardware design constraints /b /li liExperience in bdebugging analog and mixed‑signal systems /b, including serial interfaces /li /ul h3Key Competencies /h3 ul liStrong technical leadership without formal people management responsibility /li liAbility to work independently and drive complex problems to resolution /liliStrategic mindset with attention to technical details /li liExcellent communication skills in global, cross‑functional environments /li liCapability to mentor engineers and elevate overall team performance /li /ul h3Additional Information /h3 pThe expected annual pay range for this position is €74,000–€100,000. Please note that the final offer will depend on factors such as geographic location, relevant experience, and the candidate’s skill set.
