In Electrification Business – Smart Power Division, we are looking for a technically deep Global Application Engineer who brings advanced technical knowledge combined with a customer and application-driven mindset. You thrive at the intersection of emerging technology feasibility and real-world commercial applications, translating breakthrough concepts into viable business opportunities for Smart Power. You will bridge the gap between R&D; innovation and market reality, working in our 'Emerging Technologies, Applications and Segments' innovation team within the agile unit Innovation and Common Modules. In this role, you will partner with Principal R&D; Engineer and Technology Advisor peers, with responsibilities shifted based on the team's knowledge and each member's experience.
If you're someone with solid technical skills who is skilled at validating emerging technologies in customer contexts and turning complex technical concepts into market-ready solutions, this role is for you. Your Responsibilities Contribute to the vision of electrification solutions with a 3–8 year timeframe, grounded in deep technical understanding of technology trajectories, feasibility, and division strategy. Investigate global macrotrends in emerging technologies, applications, and segments; shape innovation strategy and roadmap with technical feasibility assessments and strategic recommendations for ELSP leadership. Develop reference architectures and technical frameworks for emerging applications and use cases, translating technology trends into actionable system design concepts. Conduct technology benchmarking and competitive technical analysis, identifying critical gaps and opportunities against Smart Power's current capabilities. Develop the ELSP ecosystem of key partners and customers through collaboration and knowledge exchange, piloting novel applications
