ICT Maugeri - Bioengineer (Machine Learning for Language Analysis)
ICT Maugeri, a leader in clinical research, invites applications for a temporary Bioengineer to support the project "After Diagnosis, What Can Be Done?" on Primary Progressive Aphasia.
Responsibilities
- Review scientific literature on automatic language analysis in frontotemporal dementias.
- Analyze behavioural, linguistic, and neuroimaging data of PPA patients.
- Process quantitative data and biomedical signals such as brain MRI, patient speech, and neuropsychological/clinical measures.
- Implement AI models for linguistic data analysis.
- Participate in project meetings and collaborate with the research team.
- Write manuscripts for scientific publications.

Qualifications
- Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Bioengineering, Medical Systems Engineering, or equivalent (including foreign degrees). Bachelor’s or Master’s degree is required.
- English: B2 level; good Italian language skills for non‑Italian nationals.




- Documented research experience in neurodegenerative diseases, evidenced by scientific publications.
- Experience in quantitative data and biomedical signal analysis.
- Experience developing and implementing machine‑learning models, especially for linguistic data.
- At least one first/last or corresponding author publication in machine learning.
- At least one first/last or corresponding author publication applying machine learning to linguistic data.

Terms & Location
- Contract: 6‑month fellowship, starting September 2026, ending February 2027 (possible renewal upon project extension).
- Place: IRCCS Istituti Clinici Scientifici Maugeri, Bari.
- Application deadline: 17 July 2026.
